Advanced Residency Program in Photograph Conservation

The Advanced Residency Program in Photograph Conservation (ARP)
seeks a highly motivated, achievement-oriented individual with
serious interest in contributing to the success of this unique
educational and research program. A collaboration between the George
Eastman House, International Museum of Photography and Film (GEH),
and the Image Permanence Institute (IPI) of the Rochester Institute
of Technology (RIT), the ARP is now entering its third cycle. The
program provides two-year fellowships to eight international
professional photograph conservators to support advanced training,
professional development and research. Primary funding is provided
by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The newly created position of Program Manager will be a two-year
grant supported appointment with the possibility of continuation
beyond August 2005, pending further funding of the program.

The Program Manager position requires a bachelor's degree and a
demonstrated record of achievement in grant, educational or cultural
program administration. Candidates must be familiar with PC and
Macintosh platforms and will be required to learn all hardware and
software used in the program laboratory (such as Word, Excel,
Photoshop, PageMaker, printers, scanners, digital cameras...)

The main responsibilities of the Program Manager will be:

    *   Oversight and management of program budget
    *   Purchasing of laboratory supplies
    *   Personnel management
    *   Financial and organizational record keeping and reporting
    *   Acting as liaison with GEH, IPI/RIT and the Andrew W. Mellon
        Foundation
    *   Coordinating communications of administration, faculty and
        past and present fellows
    *   Organization and scheduling of classes, workshops, lectures
        and visiting scholars
    *   Support of services for fellows
    *   Management of program web site and library
    *   Management of program computer equipment
    *   Public relations

The position will commence August 1, 2003. Salary will be $40,000
per year, plus benefits. Applications will be accepted until June
