Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery is seeking a Preventive
Conservation Officer, on a temporary contract, to cover for
maternity leave.  Birmingham Museums Service operates 6 museums in
historic and listed buildings.  A major storage project is in
progress to relocate stored collections to the Museum Collection
Centre.  You will have experience of implementing preventive
conservation initiatives for museum collections in galleries,
historic buildings and stores. You will have knowledge of
environmental monitoring and control and a specialism in inorganic
materials.  You must have excellent organisational skills, the
ability to work with initiative and to prioritise tasks and meet
deadlines.
