Subject: Call for papers--Management of cultural heritage sites
Building on the outcome of the "Heritage Management Mapping: GIS and Multimedia" Conference, held in Alexandria (October 21-23, 2002) under the umbrella of the UNESCO Virtual Congress; CULTNAT is now joining the Supreme Council of Antiquities in organizing The First International Conference on "The Management of Cultural Heritage Sites": with a view to moving from Documentation Programmes to Implementation Projects. As initially announced, the forthcoming Conference will be held in Alexandria - Egypt over the period September 15-17, 2003. Bibliotheca Alexandrina have generously offered support; making their outstanding Conference Facilities readily, and courteously, available. Principal Topics: Concepts and Principles, Concept Plans, Concept Designs; Actual State Analysis; Case Studies; Rehabilitation and Sustainability; Conservation; Digital Documentation of Archaeological Excavations. Presentations may be in the form of Illustrated Papers, Posters or Virtual Reality Simulations.
