Subject: Internships at Intermuseum Conservation Association
Advanced Painting, Object and Paper Internships Funded by the Getty Conservation Training Grant Program The Intermuseum Conservation Association (ICA) is offering two, advanced one-year internships in either painting, object and/or paper conservation beginning September 2003. Internships are supported by funding from the Getty Grant Program. Interns will have the opportunity to work with ICA conservation staff on outstanding examples of American, Asian and European art from the collections of the Association's 32 member institutions as well as varied not-for-profit public institutions, private and corporate clients. Duties include examination, treatment, analysis and on-site surveys and treatments. Research projects are supported and encouraged. After 50 years on the Oberlin College campus the ICA has relocated to a newly renovated historic building on the near West Side of downtown Cleveland. The facility's spacious state-of-the-art workspaces and equipment allows staff to provide a wide range of conservation and preservation services. The ICA's relocation to Cleveland provides ICA staff and interns with convenient access to the cultural resources of the city such as The Cleveland Museum of Art, Case Western Reserve University, The Cleveland Institute of Art, and the Cleveland Public Library. This is an exciting time for all involved and is a great opportunity for the growth of the organization as well as professional growth for staff and interns.
