Molasses

I just receive an email from a librarian who had someone dump
molasses on 32 of their art books. They were able to remove it from
the covers by getting the volumes cold and then peeling the molasses
off. However, in a number (13) of the volumes, the molasses has
seeped down between the pages. Does anyone have any suggestions as
to the best way to be able to get the molasses out from between the
pages that are now stuck together?
