Cleaning manuscripts

Hello, I'm a Spanish student of the doctorate of conservation of
books. I would like to know as much information as I could about
cleaning methods in relation to manuscripts inks and pigments, and
what kind of research has be done also in relation to the control of
the results of this cleaning treatments
