Scotland (RCAHMS) wishes to tender for a Conservation Assessment

manuscripts and ephemera) that makes up the Sir Basil Spence
Collection and to recommend and cost of any necessary treatment and
appropriate storage materials.

        results in a written report.

    * Recommend any preventative or detailed treatment required to
stabilize the material and make it safe to be handled by the
public. Recommendations should include prioritisation of
work, time required for work, level of skills and
qualifications required, and cost of any associated
        materials.

    * Recommend appropriate storage materials and provide details
        of suppliers and costs.

    * Assess treatment to enable items to be exhibited.

Timetable: The work should be undertaken in a maximum of 140 hours.
This should ideally comprise a block of 35 hours in February/early
March 2003 carrying out an initial assessment, ten regular visits of
seven hours during March and a block of 35 hours in April 2003
