The Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia Series Scientific Examination of Art: Modern Techniques in Conservation and Analysis March 19-21, 2003 The National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC Chaired by: Torsten Wiesel and Roald Hoffmann Organized by: Barbara H. Berrie E. Rene de la Rie Janis Tomlinson John Winter This international colloquium brings together scientists and conservators to discuss recent and emerging methods and techniques, as well as their role in the study and preservation of museum objects. The first day of the colloquium will feature overviews of the field, focusing on individual media. The second day will turn toward the applications of emerging techniques, such as laser technology, the aging of pigments and imaging techniques.
