Subject: Lectures on preservation science
The Preservation Directorate of the Library of Congress announces the third and fourth presentations in its series of lectures on Topics in Preservation Science. "Lighting" January 15, 1-2:30 Jim Druzik, Conservation Scientist, Getty Conservation Institute, will present two lectures in the Mary Pickford Theater, Room 302, Library of Congress, Madison Building, 101 Independence Avenue, Washington, DC. Dr. Druzik will speak about improving exhibition lighting for Old Master drawings, as well as the safety of all light-sensitive materials on display. "Microenvironments" on January 16, 10:30-12:00 Dr. Druzik will speak about developments in Absorbents and Molecular Sieves used to protect treasures from environmental contaminants. These lectures are free and open to the public.
