Date: Sun, 29 Dec 2002 Subject: What glue to use for skin repairs From: Robert W. Dickerman <bobdickm [at] UNM__EDU> To: Bulletin Board for Bird Collections and Curators <AVECOL-L [at] LISTSERV__LSU__EDU> We have been accumulation a drawer of injured skins--most happened during our move two years ago, but with older material "things" happens. I used to use an acetone-based glue such as "Duco", but now prefer a water-based glue such as "Elmers" when I have a very touchy skin that needs to be glued rather than sewn closed. Are there strong recommendations for or against any type or trade-named glue?
