Authenticating manuscripts

On behalf of banker Mary Griffin, I'm enquiring if anyone has
experience with authenticating Thomas Jefferson handwritten notes.
One turned up in the estate of an unnamed client who Ms. Griffin
believes would have had access to the real thing, but needs to
pursue verifying this.  Has anyone worked with these artifacts?
