Microcrystalline wax and photographs

From: Richard Chase <chasephotography>

I have looked for but not found directions for the proper use of
Renaissance Wax on semi-matte and matte surface photographs.

My questions are these:

    1. is wax temperature an issue?

    2. is getting a really uniform coating best done by repeated
applications, or is there another technique?

    3. is drying time an issue before buffing, or is this best done
        as one continuous operation?

Any guidance would be appreciated, either to proper application or
written sources of information.
