"Take A Chance Fund" honoring Carolyn Rose

The Board of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and
Artistic Works (AIC) announces the formation of the "Take a Chance
Fund" to honor the career of Carolyn Rose. Prior to her death,
Carolyn had articulated her desire to provide members of the
conservation profession with the same spirit of support she had
received to pursue her ideas and vision during her career. Carolyn
was supported by the resources of a large institution that allowed
her the freedom to explore things that might not have always worked
out. But as we know, so many of them did and some of her efforts
even changed the way we work.

In recognition of the need to support innovative thinking, the "Take
a Chance Fund" will accept applications for projects and research
that might not be funded through other sources. At present, it is
anticipated that awards in the range of $200 to $2000 will be made
according to merit.

Donations to the "Take a Chance Fund" in honor of Carolyn Rose are
now being accepted by the Foundation of the AIC. Please join us in
remembering the remarkable life and career of our colleague. Please
write your check to "FAIC Take a Chance Fund" and send it to:
