The Manchester Museum <URL:http://www.museum.man.ac.uk/> is regarded
as one of the UK's leading regional Museums for the importance of
its collections, interpretation, learning programmes and research.
The Museum's renowned collections reflect the development of human
culture and natural history worldwide.

The Decant Co-ordinator is required, for six months from January
2003, to provide support during the movement and storage of
collections for the Capital Development Project. Principal duties
include assisting with the planning and implementing the removal
programme of the collections, assisting in the planning of the
stores and tracking the movement of objects and maintaining up to
date location records. In addition the successful candidate will be
required to oversee and monitor the work of the removal contractor
and project assistants. The Successful candidate will have
experience of handling collections in a museum environment, have
experience of working with databases and be able to supervise staff
and contractors and be able to work well as part of a team. In
addition the successful candidate should be able to lift, carry and
move collections.

Salary in the range of UKP15,053-UKP17,880 per annum.
