Lead Conservator
Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory.

Half-time state contractual position, twenty hour workweek, no
benefits. Responsible for examination and treatment of
archaeological artifacts from Federal/State partnerships.
Responsible for interagency communications and supervision of
project staff at the project facility. Prepare written reports.
Comply with Federal and state health and safety rules and
regulations.  Abide by the American Institute for Conservation Code
of Ethics.  Master's Degree in Conservation with background in
Materials Science and Chemistry.  Minimum five years in treatment of
archaeological artifacts from wet sites.  Applicant may substitute
additional experience for the required education at the rate of one
year of relevant experience for one year of education for a maximum
of two years.  Position to start on or about 11/20/02.

Salary: $17.38/hour.
