Glasgow Museums are a department of Cultural and Leisure Services,
Glasgow City Council, Scotland. The City of Glasgow owns one of the
richest collections in Europe, displayed in 13 museums across the
city. Venues include the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery
and Museum, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art and an award
winning outreach service known as The Open Museum. We are currently
undertaking a major refurbishment of Kelvingrove and building a new
open store, that will house 200,000 objects from the collection and
be a new visitor attraction for the city.

The successful candidates will be experienced museum conservators in
either preventive or object conservation with experience of managing
people and budgets. You will be responsible for contributing to a
conservation strategy for Glasgow Museums in your specialist area
including public access, disaster planning, training and securing
external funding. You will manage the preventive or object
conservation section and co-ordinate its input into work programmes
and project over our 13 venues, including the Kelvingrove New
Century Project. Experience of successful project management is
essential.
