Professional Accreditation of Conservator-Restorers
Accreditation Training Officer (part-time)
UKIC et al

In order to build on the success of the PACR Scheme for the
accreditation of conservator-restorers, it is proposed to appoint a
part-time Training Officer. This person will help individual
practitioners to take advantage of the scheme by training assessors
and members of the accreditation committees, advising applicants at
various stages of their applications, assisting in the establishment
of a mentoring network, and overseeing the implementation of the
PACR Scheme and the recall of CPD records. S/he will work closely
with the Development Officer of the Conservation Register.

The ideal candidate will be both familiar with conservation and
accreditation and experienced in relevant aspects of training and
education. Good organisational skills are also essential. This is a
0.5 post, and may be worked on days/hours to suit the candidate,
subject to requirements and may either be office based (in the
London offices of the UK Institute for Conservation) or based at the
candidate's own home or place of work, subject to reasonable
accessibility to London.

This post is for two years in the first instance, with the
possibility of a third year, after which a review and finances will
determine whether or not it continues. The salary will be pro-rata
of a full time equivalent of between UKP24,000 and UKP26,000 per
annum. The post is funded by the Radcliffe Trust and the
Professional Standards Board of the National Council for
Conservation-Restoration, under the auspices of which the scheme is
operated by IPC, UKIC and the Society of Archivists.

Applications are invited by September 23, 2002, and should include a
full CV and a statement of what the candidate will bring to this
post, and should be mailed to
