The National Gallery of Ireland invites applicants for the post of
Assistant Paper Conservator.

The role of the Paper Conservation Department is to be responsible
for the care and preservation of over 8000 works of art on paper and
miniatures in the Gallery collection in addition to the archive
collection of single sheet items and photographs. It is intended
that the person appointed should participate in all of the different
aspects of the paper conservation department. This includes the
record keeping of the department, making assessments and decisions
as to the most suitable methods of treatment as well as assisting in
the preparation of exhibitions. In addition the person will also be
involved in the environmental monitoring and control of the Gallery.

Requirements for the post are: a qualification in paper
conservation; minimum of 3 years experience in the field; experience
of museum/exhibition work; hold professional accreditation
(desirable but not essential).
