Seminar on jewelry technology

From: Jack Ogden <jack>
Date: Tuesday, August 20, 2002
Conservators working with jewellery and precious metal object
produced over the last few centuries might be interested in a full
day seminar to be held in New York, November 2, 2002. Entitled
'Dating and authenticating Georgian and Victorian Jewelry', the
seminar will look at the materials and construction of 18th-19th
century jewelry, the profound changes in jewelry production
technology in the wake of the Industrial Revolution, microscopic
methods of identifying processes and construction, and methods of
forgery detection.

The seminar has been arranged by the American Society of Jewellery
Historians and will be presented by Dr Jack Ogden.
