November 10-13, 2002
Course Leader: Hazel Newey, Head of Conservation, The Science Museum
Principal Tutor: Steve Conway

This unusual and much-needed course is designed to enhance the
training of those with a responsibility for maritime
    collections--whether curators, collectors or object
conservators. Against the historical background of ship models,
participants will look at the technology and materials used
making them. The course will focus on recognition of
conservation problems and approaches to treatment. Included will
be a visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyards to examine a wide
range of model types, and range of contributions from specialist
    conservators. Fee to be confirmed.
