The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston has a full time position available
for an Assistant Conservator of Textiles and Costume.
Responsibilities for the survey collection of 30,000 objects include
examination, treatment, and documentation; working with exhibit
designers, packers, and collection care specialists; object/material
research, and the supervision of interns.  Candidates should have a
graduate degree in conservation or have equivalent training and
experience and a minimum of 2 years supervised conservation
experience.  A knowledge of textile properties, techniques and
history as well as textile conservation theory and practice is
required, in addition to the following skills:  excellent sewing
skills, written and verbal communication, organizational and
interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to work
independently.
