In the Reference Library, we have silver halide acetate microfilm
film that is stored in large cabinet drawers. The drawers are
beginning to stick and squeak. I was asked to find out if it would
be possible to lubricate the sides of the drawers without damaging
the film. The lubricant would not touch the film boxes but I was
concerned about the possibility of the lubricant off-gassing. Does
anyone have any ideas or suggestions that could help?
