Mutilation, Damage, Despair and Repair
Library Collections Conservation Discussion Group
AIC 2002, Miami.
Monday, June 10
Location to be announced
2-3:30pm

Participants will discuss their experiences dealing with mutilated
and damaged materials in their collections, policies and procedures
they have developed to prevent mutilation of library materials, and
techniques for returning damaged items to a usable state. We will
highlight methods of creating replacement pages by photocopying and
by scanning, and explore the relationship between conservation
efforts and the services provided by Inter Library Loan departments.

LCCDG participants are encouraged to send or bring slides of
examples of mutilation problems and/or solutions to stimulate
discussion and problem solving.
