Directs the day-to-day operations and develops overall procedures
and standards for work of the document conservation and the research
and testing laboratory staff.  Responsible for the overall planning,
direction and administration of the functions assigned to the
Laboratory, providing for preservation and conservation of
permanently valuable Federal records in National Archives custody
and for a comprehensive program of research, testing and support for
the Preservation Programs and NARA as a whole.  Federal Civil
Service position.
