Perfect Support: Soft Body Padding to Create the Ideal Shape

A three day workshop on preparing mannequins for the display of
historic dress organised by Historic Royal Palaces
Textile Conservation Studios
Hampton Court Palace
London, UK
UKIC Textile Section
October 2-4, 2002

Historic Royal Palaces are responsible for the care, preservation
and display of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, housed at
Kensington Palace, London. As part of a large team involving
curators, conservation housekeepers, designers and surveyors the
Textile Conservation Studios have been involved in the display of
the collections' historic dress over the last eight years.

This workshop is aimed at people who have a limited experience at
preparing mannequins for a costume display. It is geared to
providing the participants with a range of useful practical
information and techniques that have worked well in the long term in
our displays and which the participants can adapt to their
particular situation.

Cost of course: UKP275.00 per person
