Smoke drawings

I am currently involved with a project to conserve and rehouse 83
plaster panels upon which are a variety of smoke drawings, which we
believe, date from the 1700's. In the course of my investigations
into the panels, I've been informed that there is, apparently
somewhere in the UK, an expert who may be able to shed more light on
the relative significance (or otherwise) of our panels. Knowing how
well connected my fellow conservators are, I was hoping that someone
may have come across or worked with this mysterious expert.
