Conservation Services is looking for an experienced book conservator
to join our team of 4 other conservators in the paper, archives,
sound and photographic materials areas as well as technical support
staff.

Senior Conservators at the Library provide conservation management
and treatment services for the collections, as well as leadership in
library conservation in NZ through support for the programs of the
National Preservation Office and participation in professional
organisations and networks.

The Senior Book Conservator has particular responsibility for the
co-ordination of conservation management programs for the bound
collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library . These include the
Special Printed Collections of over 17,000 rare and early examples
of printed books, important collections relating to John Milton and
the 17th century, and examples of fine printing from around the
world.  The New Zealand and Pacific Published Collections include
over 270,000  books, and comprehensive collections of serials and
newspapers from NZ and the Pacific.

Salary range NZ $44,983-$56,228. A relocation allowance is
negotiable for the successful candidate, should that individual be
currently living outside of New Zealand.
