>According to Mr. O'Neill, the Library of Congress's Research and
>Testing Office recently approved the use of Hostaphan 43SM (produced
>by Mitsubishi Films), information forwarded to Alameda by Ms. Denise
>Lowrie (Mitsubishi-account executive).

According to DuPont-Teijin, the maker of now-discontinued Mylar-D,
Melinex #516 was also approved by the Library of Congress at about
the same time as Mylar-D. Melinex #516 is now a product of DuPont.
This and other Melinex clear films suitable for direct-contact
preservation mounting (especially #455 and #456) are widely
available from many of the same distributors that have supplied us
Mylar-D. For more information on the Melinex product line, contact
