Subject: Call for papers--Furniture conservation
Call For Papers Thirty years of innovation 1900-1939 High Wycombe May 2002 This one-day conference, which will be held in High Wycombe, aims to raise issues from within furniture conservation, history and design, which have not been previously explored together, across these three disciplines. We wish to share information and raise awareness for the preservation of furniture and provide context through archival support, for this currently disparate, large group of objects. We are looking for papers based upon British, European and United States furniture. In this first conference on twentieth century furniture, we will be looking for papers based upon practical experience, which support our field of investigation. Have you conserved a piece of furniture (1900-1939), or identified a material, in furniture which has been problematic to work with, observed a design history issue which warrants discourse, or have access to underrated archival material. Papers will be 30 minutes duration and will be aimed at an informed audience. If you are interested in speaking at this conference then please provide a 300 word abstract by January 10th 2002, which you can send to either Prof Jake Kaner <jake.kaner [at] bcuc__ac__uk> or Sally Sugrue <sally.sugrue [at] bcuc__ac__uk> at Twentieth Century Furniture Research Group Department of Furniture Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College Queen Alexandra Road High Wycombe, Bucks HP11 2JZ *** Conservation DistList Instance 15:38 Distributed: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 Message Id: cdl-15-38-013 ***Received on Thursday, 15 November, 2001
