During the 2001 Annual Meeting of the American Institute for
Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, held last spring in
Dallas, Texas, three presentations were given in a session entitled,
"Conservation Cyberspace Communications and the Way We Work."
Mitchell Hearns Bishop, of the Getty Conservation Institute, gave a
PowerPoint presentation about the Internet. Jeanne Drewes, of the
University of Michigan Library, distributed a printed Glossary. I, a
conservator in private practice, described some ways that
conservators use the Internet professionally. My talk was based on
many people's responses to surveys that were posted in October 2000
and April 2001 on the Conservation DistList and about the same time
on the restricted listserv of the AIC Objects Specialty Group
(osg-l). I am grateful to everyone who contributed comments.

The three components of the CCC-WWW session at AIC are available
online, courtesy of Jeanne Drewes, at the URL shown here:

All three authors encourage distribution of these materials.
