Chrome shelving

Does anyone know if there are off-gassing risks associated with
chromed wire shelving?  The company I'm looking at (Metro) also has
a baked epoxy finish, but it is considerably more expensive--is it
really worth it in the long run?  It would be used to store boxed
archives, photographs and small framed works on paper.
