"Publishing Without Perishing" Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts 14 East 78th Street, New York City Friday, November 16,2001 10 am-2 pm $30 ($25 for Textile Conservation Group and American Institute for Conservation members) The Textile Conservation Group,Inc. is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a workshop entitled "Publishing Without Perishing" which has been partially funded by a grant from the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation. Aimed at experienced conservators of all specialties who wish to acquire the skills necessary to produce publishable papers based on their work or research, it will treat, among other topics, the differences between oral presentations and written ones, publishers' guidelines, and the reviewer/referee process. Presenters include: Barbara Appelbaum (Appelbaum and Himmelstein), Deborah Bede (Stillwater Textile Conservation Studio) and Dr. Chandra Reedy (Editor of the Journal of the American Institute for Conservation).
