Cleaning stone

We are wondering if anyone has experience or suggestions about
cleaning stone objects (such as marble, basalt, limestone, dolomite,
travertine or granite sculptures) from sturdy dirt, pollution,
lichens or other microbiological effects by means of pressurized
water and/or steam.
