Infrared

Has anyone done research on the effect of infrared on paintings? We
are considering using low level near infrared to illuminate areas
containing paintings to provide good quality video on infrared
sensitive cameras. We want to confirm that the presence of infrared
will not damage the paintings. Your help would be greatly
appreciated.
