Mounting posters

A collector I know usually has her posters mounted to a coated
fabric backing. I am looking for feedback on other ideas and
alternatives, or any articles on the subject. I guess this is a very
common practice among poster collectors but I am hoping to persuade
her not to mount them. Thanks,
