Ice on outdoor sculpture

I am interested in finding out any information available on
protection measures on outdoor stone monuments against unavoidable
presence of ice. The monument, the conservation team is focusing its
efforts on, is the ancient theatre of Dodona, North Greece, made of
local limestone prone to cracking, breakage and eventually total
loss of material due to the formation of ice during winter months
and big fluctuations in temperatures during a single day.
