Subject: Conservation Information Network
Lyn Elliot Sherwood, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Conservation Information Network, has asked me to share this message with the list: On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Conservation Information Network, I wish to correct any possible misunderstanding that may exist concerning the continued partnership of the Getty Conservation Institute in the Network. The Getty Conservation Institute has decided to make the Art and Archaeology Technical Abstracts available to the conservation community through a separate service as an on-line database and no new AATA abstracts will be added to BCIN. The Institute will continue, however, to be an active partner in the Conservation Information Network by contributing citations of its library holdings to BCIN, the Network's collaborative bibliographic database. In addition to the GCI, the Conservation Information Network partners include the Canadian Conservation Institute, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, the International Council of Museums, the International Council on Monuments and Sites, the National Archives of Canada, the Smithsonian Center for Materials Research and Education, and the Canadian Heritage Information Network. BCIN is available by subscription to both individuals and institutions at <URL:http://www.chin.gc.ca>. *** Conservation DistList Instance 15:1 Distributed: Wednesday, June 6, 2001 Message Id: cdl-15-1-002 ***Received on Tuesday, 29 May, 2001
