Objects or Paintings Conservation Intern New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Peebles Island Resource Center Waterford, New York We are offering a two-month internship in Objects/Paintings Conservation for the treatment of a four-panel, gilded and painted leather standing room screen. The goal of this project is the completion of cleaning of two of the four panels. Two panels have been cleaned by previous conservation interns. The intern would review previous cleaning methods, conduct testing, develop their own method and procedure for cleaning the gilded and painted leather surface, and undertake the treatment.. Applicants must have completed at least one year of a conservation graduate program. The stipend for this internship is $2750. The starting date is negotiable, but not before July 1, 2001.
