At Helsingborgs Museum we by our protective shoes from Skagen Produktionsskole, Skarpaesvej 80, Postbox 40, DK-9990 Skagen, Denmark. They sell protective shoes in thick cotton material that are washable and last very long. They cost $5 a pair and come in three different sizes (women, men, giant!).
