The EVTEK Institute of Art and Design--an institution of higher
education--is seeking a Senior Lecturer for its Degree Programme of
Conservation Studies to join our staff in Vantaa, Finland

The EVTEK Institute of Art and Design is an institution of higher
education--a polytechnic in the field of cultural sector.  We have
Degree Programmes in Media, Design and Conservation, The institute
is located in new high-class premises in the heart of Vantaa, next
to the capital city Helsinki.

The specialization lines in the Degree Programme of Conservation
Studies are: Conservation of art, objects, furniture, paper and
textiles.  Also we have a two-year Marine Archaeological
conservation course.  Up to 50-70% of the studies take place in
English language, which combined with the frequent visits of foreign
expert lecturers and internships abroad guarantee an international
recognition of the degree.  The scope of the programme is 160 credit
weeks which normally takes 4 years to complete.  Upon completion the
students obtain the degree of Bachelor of Conservation (Hons).

The candidate we are looking for should have a PhD in conservation
or a physical science and should evidence experience and ability  in
teaching and research at the graduate level. Also a specialist with
a Master's degree in conservation is a good candidate if he or she
has exceptionally highly qualified professional experience in the
field of conservation.

Responsibilities:  The senior lecturer has a full-time-job as a head
of the Department of Conservation,  teaching 10-14 hours per week
and administrating the lively and internationally oriented
Department of Conservation with  65-80 students and 5 full time
lecturers as well as 40-80 visiting lecturers yearly.

Compensation:  Salary 2536 - 3500 euros per month,  12 weeks of
yearly paid vacation:  8 weeks in summer and 4 weeks in wintertime.
