Draft report on artifact preservation

The Task Force on the Artifact in Library Collections, a group of
scholars and librarians investigating scholars' needs for original
materials, has produced a draft report and welcomes review by
preservation librarians. The report, "The Evidence in Hand," is
available at <URL:http://clir.org>, and comments can be sent to me
at asmith [at] clir__org. The final report will appear shortly after the
review period ends on June 10. We particularly welcome thoughts
about recommendations for action. This review period is designed to
solicit the views of librarians and scholars about concrete steps to
be taken at both regional and national levels.
