Within the central courtyard of the Forbidden City in Beijing, a

Please join Harriet Stratis, Conservator of Prints and Drawings at
The Art Institute of Chicago, as she shares with us her experience
of going to China with a team of conservators, a registrar, and an
art historian, to examine and gather works of art in preparation for
their transport and installation in the ground-breaking exhibition
Taoism and the Arts of China.

Learn how over the course of four years, Stephen Little, Pritzker
Curator of Asian Art at the Art Institute, shaped the exhibition and
catalogue, and expertly negotiated the loan of works of art that
have never before traveled to the West. The exhibition has received
international acclaim, the catalogue promises to be the definitive
textbook on the subject for years to come, and the exhibition of so
many Chinese national treasures is unprecedented.

Everyone is invited to join us at the Chicago Historical Society,
Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM for refreshments and Ms. Stratis. CHS is
