Conservator Conservation Solutions, Inc. As part of our present expansion, Conservation Solutions, Inc. is looking for a full-time entry/mid-level conservator to join our staff in our Washington, D.C./Metro area office. CSI is a rapidly growing international historic preservation firm dedicated to the conservation of monuments, sculpture, historic structures, and industrial artifacts. The desired candidate should be a detail-oriented individual with field experience and formal training and should have experience with a variety of building materials and technologies as well as with methods of investigation and analysis. S/he should also be able to prioritize, manage her/his time efficiently, delegate tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and exercise self-motivation while working as a part of a dedicated team. The position requires travel within the US and Caribbean, sometimes for extended periods of time. Responsibilities: Assist the head conservator with the design and implementation of conservation treatments and master plans, cost estimating, historic documentation, report writing, technical studies, specification writing, project management, supervision of conservation technicians, and training of interns. Qualifications: A Master's degree in Historic Preservation or Art Conservation from an accredited graduate program and two or more years field experience in art/architectural conservation are desirable. Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and special skills.
