Fume extraction unit

Subscribers to the DistList may remember a previous message of mine
complaining about the inadequacies of a company called ASTEC and the
downflow bench they designed and manufactured for us for the purpose
of fume extraction.

We had been in dispute with them for over 4 years, often waiting
long periods for a response to our repeated communications. When I
finally told them I would publish the 4 years' accumulated
correspondence between us on the Internet, the response time was
amazing: 4 minutes. The Director paid us a visit in person the next
week, and two weeks later we took receipt of a replacement unit,
free of charge. What is more; it seems to work. (You may wish to
note this approach for your personal future use.)

PS if someone in the near future offers you a second-hand downflow
bench manufactured by ASTEC, "just say no".
