Subject: Authenticating flag
I work for a small historical society which has in its possession a confederate "Stars and Bars" flag that was captured on Cheat Mountain, VA (now WV). It has ten stars formed in a circle and is in excellent condition. It measures 55 x 122 inches and the size brings into question whether it is a battle flag or perhaps used in some other manner? I would appreciate any information that would help us make the determination.
