Supporting large paper objects

This enquiry is placed on behalf of a conservator without access to
the internet, apparently he has a couple of items that need to be
supported for display and would like not to have to join any of the
supports used. Can anyone (especially from the United Kingdom)
suggest a suitable product to provide support whilst maintaining
archival qualities to paper products measuring 4 x 10 feet.

An inert polypropylene sheeting called Correx has been recommended,
whilst this can be formed to size the manufacturers have advised
that the minimum would be 500 pounds; unfortunately this is far in
excess of the conservators needs.
