Conservator The Natural History Museum The Natural History Museum is looking for a Conservator in the Department of Palaeontology (1 year fixed term contract). The successful candidate will be required to assist in the day to day running of the Palaeontology Conservation Unit. Duties will include preventive and remedial conservation of the stored collections, surveys and project planning associated with the heating and ventilation upgrade of the building, advisory and consultancy services including replication of fossil material and communication of conservation topics to staff and visitors. Experience in general conservation issues and in particular palaeontology is essential. IT and report writing skills would be an advantage. A knowledge of environmental monitoring systems is desirable. A proven track record of good conservation practice, meeting deadlines and a high regard for safe working practices is also a requirement.
