Postgraduate Internship in Object Conservation Peabody Museum Harvard University The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology is offering a one-year postgraduate internship in object conservation beginning in September 2001. The position provides opportunity to work with the museum's extensive material culture collections. The intern will focus on the study, documentation, and treatment of objects and textiles for in-house exhibitions, loans, collection-specific condition assessments, and for selected research priorities. Independent study and research will be strongly encouraged and supported through University resources and travel assistance. There will be opportunities to participate and collaborate with anthropology department and museum staff members in the implementation of museum-wide preservation initiatives. The internship includes a stipend of $20,000 for the year, with University benefits and health insurance, and a $3,000 travel and analytical research supplement. Candidates should be recent graduates of recognized conservation training programs with appropriate specialization, or have equivalent experience.
