The latest accelerated corrosion tests carried out by the British Museum on Cushion Wrap 1207, a flame retardant cushion wrap material have confirmed its suitability for permanent use in the protection of artefacts made from gold. Cushion Wrap 1207 has already gained approval for use in the protection of items in transit and in permanent storage following earlier tests on its suitability against a variety of organic artefacts, silver,copper and lead. Cushion Wrap L1207 is certified for use by the Loss Prevention Council Board following specialist flame retardancy testing at the LPCB's test laboratories.
