Furniture Conservator - Connemara, Ireland
The Conservation and Restoration Center for Furniture and Wooden
    Artefacts
Letterfrack, County Galway, Ireland

An experienced conservator/restorer with well-developed bench skills
and good problem solving abilities is required to join our team here
in Connemara on the West Coast of Ireland.

The Conservation and Restoration Centre is purpose-built and very
well furnished with a range of modern machinery and scientific
equipment, although the emphasis is on high quality bench-work.

We undertake a wide range of work from vernacular/folklife furniture
and objects through to fashionable fine furniture and the
conservation and restoration of architectural joinery and historic
interiors. We can offer superb working conditions in a clean, modern
environment situated within the dramatic and beautiful landscapes of
Connemara. The CRC is a new venture that sets the benchmark for
furniture conservation in Ireland and we seek a talented individual
who can help us continue to develop our future.

As the nature of our work varies you need to be adaptable but you
will be encouraged to develop your own abilities and acquire new
skills. The ability to work to deadline and within estimate whilst
maintaining a sound ethical approach is essential.

Our clients include the National Museum of Ireland, Historic Houses,
dealers and private clients and collectors. As the service we offer
is nation wide some travelling and on-site work should be
anticipated.

This post will be on a two-year contract basis with the potential
for renewal. Salary from IR#17,550 pa.

For an informal discussion about the post you are invited to
telephone Colin Piper, the Centre's manager on +353 95 41036 or send
your letter of application together with your CV to
